Get Involved

Since 1983, when Cardinal Maurice Michael Otunga launched the Self-Help Programme with a modest savings circle, communities have been transforming their own lives through collective action. Join that story — as a donor, partner, or SEEP member.

Why It Matters

Every contribution changes a life

Caritas Nairobi's model is built on one conviction: that people are not problems to be solved, but agents of their own transformation. When you get involved, you don't rescue anyone — you walk alongside communities, strengthen what's already there, and help people become more capable and resilient than before.

From a KSh 20 savings circle in a Nairobi parish in 1983 to programmes covering 3,721 sq. km and reaching over 4.6 million people — this movement has always been built by ordinary people choosing to show up.

"To empower the poor and marginalized through sustainable programs based on Gospel values and Catholic Social Teachings, fostering Integral Human Development."
